Sailortown was a working-class dockland community located in the Docks area of Belfast, Northern Ireland.Established in the mid-19th century on partly reclaimed land, it had a mixed Protestant and Catholic population. Sailortown was Belfast’s first waterfront village with over 5,000 people packed into the small, cobblestoned streets of terraced houses between the docks and York Street. Our proposal was for a demountable timber post and beam structure wrapped in net with community designed & built insertions.
