But Norwegian is better than Swedish, when you learn German, because it is more similar, than Swedish.
If Swedish appeals to you more, then the question of which is easier, Norwegian or Swedish, will be answered. One more gender than Swedish, but a lot less plural forms.
Rather than having the stød (glottal catch) that makes Danish hard to pronounce, both Norwegian nad Swedish have word tones, where every stressed word with more than 1 syllable is either tone 1 or tone 2. I am too 15 years old, and i am from Slovakia, so i am too from a Slavic land :) I think that you should learn first Norwegian, than Swedish. Another reason is that the official language (that is, not the dialects) that you would be learning is usually easier to understand than Swedish, and has less sounds that other languages don't have. If you do not need Swedish or Norwegian for any necessary, practical purpose, you might as well just choose the one that you like the more. Hello!
Considering that they're really two varieties of the same language it's a lot like asking whether American English is easier to learn than British. Hahaha tyty. Honestly I think Swedish is harder than Norwegian from what I've seen. For the most part, the consonant clusters are equally hard in Swedish and Norwegian. I'm finding Norwegian easier. Edit: Disclaimer, I'm not at all educated in this nor do I speak Norwegian or Swedish. When asking about what easier to learn Swedish or Norwegian, people talk about pronunciation.
Norwegian i think it´s a bit easier, and it gives biger help, when you want to learn danish too.
Not just because of the additional endings, but also Swedish phonology seems to be a bit more complex than Norwegian (for example the soft consonants, retroflex rules and of course the sje-ljud). As a Norwegian I might be biased, but here’s how I see it: Norwegians understands Swedish well (before cable and satellite TV, all most of us had was one Norwegian and two Swedish state channels). Maybe slightly easier in Danish. Also, as a Norwegian speaker you'll have the advantage of understanding a lot more Swedish then a Swedish speaker can understand Norwegian. From the Norwegian I've studied as well I have an easier time reading Danish but can't understand it at all, and Swedish is easier to listen to.
