The books were converted into 12 languages. She has written so many books that other than her Mallory series, this is my favorite. I have always enjoyed reading Johanna Lindsey books, but I will think twice about buying her next book.
I read all of Johanna Lindsey’s books up until the mid-00’s. And partially because when the couple is falling freely in love, I always worry in the back of my mind about them leaving the children alone for so long. I used to own every one, and a couple of them still rank as some of my favorites.
I did struggle in the middle as it seemed to drag. It was also my first official sheikh book. A later Lindsey' book, Planet Earth--2000 A.D. (18 million in circulation as of 1/95), carries a picture of Hal and his third wife, Kim, who is approximately 25 years his junior. I can't even count how many times I read this book. But, the last few I read weren’t nearly as good as I remembered the rest being. Partially because most authors don't write lovable kids well. I was wrong. When her father died, Johanna and her mother settled in Hawaii in honor of her late father’s request. Kimberly, the heroine, will melt your heart and cause you to root for her from page one. I discovered Johanna Lindsey while living in the Netherlands - I devoured the romances I found in the American Thrift Shop in Schinnen and the Army Library Annex in Brunssum. The author wrote forty-nine books, and its more than 60 million copies were sold. It was magic.

I. series that started with The Heir, though The Heir was my least favorite of that series. Excited to see the Johanna Lindsey interest. She has two different types of books…One type is the Mallory and Warrior series. Lindsey, Johanna. She is one of the most famous writers of historical romance novels in the world. It seems you really love Johanna Lindsey books or you hate them. One of Johanna's books still remains on my keeper shelf - UNTIL FOREVER, published in 1995 by Avon Romance: From the shadows of the past. And I’m disappointed. There is not much in between. She was the daughter of a U.S. Army soldier that was stationed in Germany, where she was born (although as an army brat, she wouldn’t stay long and moved around frequently).
This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review. Johanna Lindsey died October 27 at the age of 67. These JL books are usually amusing, consensual and filled more with banter than with manhandling. And just accept that the work that made her famous will have to get us by for the rest of time.
Her books are packed to bursting with unnecessary detail and repetitive inner dialogue.
